From the Mode options, select Receive. This option allows you to extract messages from a Twitter stream. Filter on KeywordsEnter a comma-separated list of keywords to filter the Twitter stream. If keywords are defined, all Tweets matching any of the keywords are returned. Filter on UserIdsEnter a comma-separated list of user ids, indicating the users whose Tweets will be delivered on the stream. To find the user id based on the Twitter user name, use the following links: Filter on LocationCreate a comma-separated list of longitude and latitude pairs, and specify a set of bounding boxes to filter Tweets by location. Specify each bounding box as a pair of longitude and latitude coordinates, with the southwest corner of the bounding box first. For example: -122.75,36.8, -127.75,37.8 for San Francisco. The location filter uses the following logic to determine whether a given Tweet falls within a bounding box:
Native reTweets are not matched by this parameter. While the original Tweet may have a location, the reTweet will not. Use this link to find the longitude and latitude coordinates of any location: http://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com.
Row-limitDefine a row-limit to limit the amount of rows being streamed. If you want the stream to have no limit, leave the field blank or set it to 0. StreamTwitter provides two types of stream: Gardenhose and Firehose. To access the Firehose stream, you need to purchase access rights from Twitter. If you have access to Firehose you are eligible to receive 100% of Twitter messages. Otherwise you have to use the Gardenhose public stream, which is free of charge and you are eligible to get 1% of Twitter messages. |
